SPATIAL PLANNING
LET’S DISCOVER
OUR CONCEPT
Spatial planning is the manifestation of spatial structure and spatial patterns that are organized at the national, regional, and local levels. Spatial planning is closely related to planning, used to analyze the spatial structure of cities. In Indonesia, the concept of spatial planning has evolved over time, with the idea that infrastructure development can accelerate regional development. In the 1990s, the concept of regional development began to be directed at addressing regional disparities.
RDTR Kawasan Sekitar Danau Tondano
“The Detailed Spatial Plan (RDTR) for the Tondano Lake Area in North Sulawesi outlines land use and development regulations to preserve the environment, utilize natural resources sustainably, and manage growth in line with broader spatial plans. It designates conservation zones to protect biodiversity, residential zones for sustainable housing, tourism zones considering environmental and economic potential, and agricultural and fishing zones to support local livelihoods. Additionally, it includes strategies for flood and erosion control, ensuring planned and sustainable development around Tondano Lake.”
RTRW Kabupaten Minahasa
“The Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) of Minahasa Regency aims to guide sustainable development by optimizing local potential while preserving environmental integrity. The plan designates specific zones, including residential, agricultural, industrial, and conservation areas, to ensure balanced land use. It emphasizes infrastructure development, such as transportation networks and public facilities, to enhance connectivity and quality of life. Environmental management is prioritized through conservation efforts and waste management, while economic growth is fostered by promoting tourism and creative industries. The RTRW serves as a strategic framework for the long-term, sustainable growth of Minahasa.”
Spatial Planning is a geographical expression that reflects the scope of policies made by society related to the economy, social matters, and culture.
